Handmade Seichosen paper with dilute acrylic paint
The delicate first weeks of Spring are reflected in the tender new leaves and pendant flowers of this young 'Taoyame' Cherry tree in Kew Gardens.
This banner is painted on handmade Seichosen paper from Japan which is unbleached and has a soft natural colour. The paper has a unique and subtle texture of kozo fibres along with the watermarks of the paper makers Su or frame.
The piece is suspended from a simple batten and clear thread which can be removed on request if an alternative method of display is desired.
