Rainy Summer Hydrangea

Rainy Summer Hydrangea

76 x 140 cm | Pigments on handmade Mitsumata Paper
Rainy Summer Hydrangea is a summer evocation, inviting you to experience the quiet morning rain and the flourishing life it nurtures. Brushpainted onto handmade Mitsumata paper this artwork encapsulates the essence of a moment and the dance of eye, hand, and heart.

Plein Air painting in Kew Gardens is a delicate balance of creativity and practicality. The weather conditions become an unspoken part of the narrative. Imagine yourself in the warmth of a saturated summer morning, where the tranquility of gentle rain mingles with the promise of growth.

The pink is composed of a blend of Madder Lake Genuine, Cobalt Violet Light, and Oriental Blue pigments. Pigments are fixed with casein fixative. The Mitsumata paper is stretched and attached to a simple wooden batten with bookbinder's paste, facilitating effortless hanging. Should an alternative hanging method be preferred, the batten can be easily removed before purchase.
