Hampstead Heath Copper Beech

76 x 140 cm | Pigments on handmade Mitsumata Paper
A love song to a truly magnificent beech tree, capturing the essence of its beauty with calligraphic brushstrokes. This banner invites viewers into a dreamlike space beneath the graceful curves of the tree's boughs.

This is the first of two beech banners in pigments on handmade Mitsumata paper. They were painted on summer mornings at the top of Hampstead Heath, London.

Following the principles of biophilic design, I aim to bring the tranquility of the outdoors into the living space and to use natural materials. This work celebrates the interconnectedness between art, nature, and the human spirit.

The Mitsumata paper is stretched and attached to a simple wooden batten with bookbinder's paste, facilitating effortless hanging. Should an alternative hanging method be preferred, the batten can be easily removed before purchase.

These banners are rolled for both storage and posting.
